Practico Logoractico

Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions

Why are you doing subscriptions?

While I am committed to maintaining a robust free tier, I also need to cover the cost of developing and maintaining Practico. If the demand is there, I would love to continue developing Practico full-time and building it as a larger platform with more exercise types, languages supported and integrating the exercises together more cohesively.

Why not do ads instead?

I personally feel that ads would be distracting and harmful to the user experience, while not generating enough revenue to justify the trade-off.

What is planned for the future?

I have lots of ideas already but also want to hear from you! Please use the feedback form to let me know what you would like to see. Let me know if you prefer focusing on 1. new exercise types 2. new languages 3. more integration between the exercise types or 4. more detailed explanations and guides for existing exercises and languages.

How do I leave feedback?

You can use the feedback form linked in the footer of the website. You can also reach out to me through X, Discord or email. We appreciate all feedback and use it to improve Practico.

Technical Questions

Does Practico work on mobile devices?

Yes, Practico is designed to work on both desktop and mobile devices. The interface adapts to different screen sizes for optimal user experience.

Is there a dedicated mobile app on the app store?

No, at least not yet. Practico is a web app that can be used on any device with a web browser. I have plans to create a mobile app in the future but it is a significant undertaking.

How about a PWA?

I have to look more into this. Depending on demand and the time it would take to implement both a PWA or a dedicated mobile app, it may be a good addition.

Where does the audio come from?

Practico uses Google Cloud text-to-speech integration to generate audio files. Given enough demand, I would love to use either a higher quality TTS or even better, real native human recorded audio.

What is spaced repetition?

Spaced repetition is a technique used to improve learning by repeating information at increasingly longer intervals.

How does the spaced repetition work?

Practico uses the SuperMemo2 algorithm, similar to the algorithm used by Anki. I will add more information about the implementation in the future. I will likely tinker more with Spaced Repetition to ideally make it more intuitive and user-friendly while ideally including some features in Anki. If you did not already guess, I love Anki.
